RV experience anyone?
i'm looking into renting a RV for the American Le Mans at Laguna Seca this year. wondering if anyone has rented or has RV experience and can tell me if it's a good or bad idea. also, wondering what kind of costs i should expect. i would probably be splitting the costs with 3 others.
i have always wanted to have a RV for a race weekend. being able to sleep at the race track and wake up to cars buzzing by. i don't see anything for RVs on Laguna Seca's website, so i'm hoping they do offer RV parking.

Over the last 10 years, I've had a small 21ft motorhome and now have a 29' Fifth Wheel. Did you have specific questions?
Renting can be expensive, but if you're just going to do it once a year, I'm sure it's still cheaper than owning.
One thing is when they say it "Sleeps 8" that's only if you're a buncha pigmys or REALLY good friends willing to double up on a bed slightly smaller than a standard twin.
Gas mileage? It's going to suck. If it's burning gasoline, figure 7-10mpg. Diesel will get better, but most rentals are not diesel.
Laguna Seca does have several areas for RV parking, but if you don't already have a spot reserved, you're probably SOL, of course call and check.

Hey Ray, hope all is well. 
As far as dealing with that stuff, the worst of it is dumping, and as long as you're careful and double check your connections it's no big deal. But if things go wrong it can turn into a really big deal 
I know they have some full hookup site out there, but I'm sure they're all gone. I say if there are spots and you can afford the rental, go for it. dealing with the RV stuff is no big dal and yeah it's great to walk out your front door and you're already there.
don't really know what to ask as i'm just trying to figure out the logistics and see if it's actually doable. don't want to get all hyped up and then realizing it wasn't as good of an experience as i imagine. my experience is so limited as i have only been in a RV a handful of times, so i don't know what's involved. i imagine it's like a home except you have to deal with plugging in water, using a generator, and dumping the crap. i will call and check to see how it is for race weekend. this is what i'm looking at: http://www.roadbearrv.com/veh_mh32.php
