Running a Stealth System on 05 STI Muffler
What kind of performance restictions would I have if I used my Stock 05STI muffler and run dp and catless midpipe. I was thinking like the Turbo XS Stealth and get a reflash? What's the opinion of others. I am trying to keep the sould down and keep it looking stock but want to hear a rumble and mget more hp. Any advice on BOV if I am running stock with just dp and mp? Any WAV clips so I can hear it?
THanks!

dont get a BOV at all unless you want to get custom tuned for it
the stock sti axel back is pretty restrictive, so you are leaving some HP on the table by using it. Id suggest a stromung, prodrive, borla hush, or custom magnaflow muffler. You may want to add one more resonator too to quiet it down further

Thanks!
I was planning on getting a reflash with dp, midpipe, and bov maybe with intake, but it's kind of a wast if I am gonna get tuned with with w reflash and not have an exhause huh? Maybe I just wit till I am ready to do it all at one. I probably should just enjoy my stock care for just a bit, so I can feel how much faster it could get?

The prodrive is reasonably quiet - certainly my facorite, and the reason I'm running it. I didn't think the Borla 'Hush' was all that quiet, but thats personal opinion.

at 210whp, the difference will be less noticable than at 270whp+

intakes, also usually not that good unless properly tuned. I ran the KN typhoon and it didnt run all that well. My car was pretty stealth/quiet and made decent power on the cobb OTS maps with the cobb AP. Ran the KN drop in filter and the full stromung TBE. Put down 266whp/275ftlbs at gruppe-sex un-tuned (the cobb stage 2 standard map)
The sti axel back is pretty retrictive (someone on another forrum cut one open, lots of internal baffles), so I guess it depends on how much power you want

At stock turbo levels, it certainly wont. I experienced 6 peak HP difference.

ok
I was also thinking just forget about the tune and use a CObb AP and run some of the maps for a one stock motor. I just wana keep it pretty stealth as an everyday driver with a few more ponies at a push of a button. Thanks for all the help you guys!

My friend has a modded '05 STi. He felt his APEXi N1 fartcan was too loud and wanted a stealth system. So today we took it to a muffler shop and had a custom catback fabricated using full 3" mild steel piping and a 3" Magnaflow muffler which we painted flat black too. I'll post some pics in a bit. It's pretty stealth and alot quieter than the N1.
