i mean... yeah, if u move up to more lugs u can hold more weight... but 100 to 114.3 etc...and say better then one over the other makes no sense... other than making that rim fit your car.

I don't know if this is specifically related to it being 5x114 but the newer STi's hubs are a lot strong and can run a lot more aggressive wheels then older 5x100. but if it is, then that is a perfect example of why 5x114 is "better" then 5x100 or 4x100.
lol, ....i don't know if their stronger... but i hear the newer sti hubs have more wheels that fit them... so yeah, more wheels on 114.3 vs 100... i guess you got me there...
