I like Jeff Corwin too, but I don't think he's way cooler. I respect both equally considering what they do for a living. They have guts to do something that I will never attempt.

wow.. thats terrible. I loved watching the guy.. he actually made it interesting.. can't say much about most documentaries out there.. i loose interest. He always made it fun.. i'll miss watching his stuff.

as for the rude comments... it just sucks. The guy died.. regardless of how it happened.. he's gone and there should be respect. Even if you didn't respect his work... its not like he did anything to you.

......at least theres plenty of reruns......

there are a lot of risky jobs... is a firefighter an idiot for going into a burning building? no he is doing his passion. sure steve was not "saving" lives.. but none the less he was following his passion which eventually led him to his death.. but you know what.. i bet he is happier doing what he did and dying when he did doing what he was doing then half of us will ever be with what we are doing with our lives.

sorry i am a huge steve irwin fan and truly feel for the family right now.

i dont think its the right time to call the man an idiot.

and to put down a man who made a lot of money doing dangerous stuff to entertain us, then to just donate a HUGE amount of that income to humanitary organizations, wildlife foundations, opening a zoo, enviromental help organizations...

He held his baby in one arm while feeding a Croc with another -- but who cares now...

He's dead, but Steve will always be the man

He lived more than most

The guys job was his lifes dream. He got paid to do what he loved more than anything else. If you die doing what you love,...so what. We'll miss you. Otherwise, we all die. It's just a matter of time. If you don't accomplish your lifes dream, you're just wasting your time. That's more of a tragedy than getting killed doing what you love. The guy lived more than most people who make it to 85.

I really liked Steve Irwin. He has done so much to educate people about reptiles, and demystify some of the tales that have been told for many years. As well as saving many himself at his ranch/zoo. Yeah, he was goofy on TV.... but that's what it took to get people to watch. He had over the top enthusiasm for what he did. Some got it, some didn't.

I had honestly hoped to be able to go to Austrailia someday and tour his facility. It's a sad day. If my snakes could understand, they'd be even sadder than I.

R.I.P. Mate!
