Yup, beadlocks are popular on trail rigs, but unfortunately, only several manufacturers make street legal beadlocks. And beadlocked rims are HEAVY! But who cares about weight on an 8K pound mud monster, right? Drag racers use something similar, I believe, though I'm not sure what the difference is.

What is surprising to me, and I had no idea this happened, is how the tire shifts it's position along the wheel!!! That's ****ing crazy!
Ditto. I wonder how much tire shift occurs in semi- aggressive mountain driving versus all out mayhem on track. Probably depends on all kinds of factors. Too bad I don't work for Enkei or Bridgestone, it sure would be cool to run some tests!

in the remote control car world, people glue the tires onto the rims.

i wonder if the same thing could be done in the full size car applications...

just mark the wheels and tires like they did in the article before you head up to hammy next time.

^haha

I dont know, i still dont buy it, of course you want rigidity, but cmon! how much "flex" are we talking about? 1 mm or .01mm? I think its just Enkei trying to sell more wheels.

The driver said he could feel that the contact patch was reduced due to flex...BS! the wheel would have to flex at least an inch to "change suspension geometry" to negatively effect performance.

Its not gonna stop me from buying the lightest wheel possible, and i'll think twice about RPF1's now. Bad Enkei!

Yeah really, the spend who knows how much money making a custom lightweight test and they dont even do a blind test, how stupid, i am disappoointed in Japanese people for the first time in my life

yeah, it sucks when youre dirtbiking or mtn biking and your valve stem eventually tears off if youdont have rim locks.
