so... note to self: keep stock wheels until i get used to it

Another odd part is the rearview mirror just because the view in it is a little odd at first.

Are you talking about a RHD car here, or a RHD car in the land of RHD cars? A RHD car in a LHD land will be a pain in the *** no two ways about it.
i've got a RHD in the land of RHD's so not so bad

i like rhd better... more room to heel/toe. the signals and wipers are on diffent sides, and i always found myself looking over my right sholder when trying to check my rear view mirror. other then that AWESOME

I found the hardest part is keeping in the lane. Because your tendency is to want to be on the left side of the lane (because you are used to sitting on the left side) but since you're driving on the right side, you keep drifting into the left lane.

That and the reversed signals takes a little getting used to. Shifting is not hard.

i like RHD because you can keep right hand on wheel when shifting.
you can practice in a friends car just shift for them from passenger seat its easy hahaha!

Hey Vanessa how's it going? Well for me, driving rhd is not that hard. I just had to re-orient myself on the other side of the car. The signal stalks and the wiper stalks are reversed, so, when I wanted to signal, I had the wipers going!

As far as judging distances to the curb, it depends on the car. When I'm practicing on the touges near my in-laws place in Japan, I had to get use to the size of my R34 because the roads are a bit smaller there. For EVOs and WRXs in Japan, I think they are the right size for the roads that I have been driving on over there.

Maybe if you get a chance to visit Japan when my family and I are there, you can try out my R34 with its current settings .

Like they said, turn signal stalk and wiper stalk is reversed so you'll be filthying up your windshield ALOT
Also, turning takes some getting used to: left turns are close so they can be made on a red, as opposed to a right turn here in LHD countries.

the best part about first time out in a RHD is shifting the door then laughing at yourself, and if somebody was in the car with you, telling them to shetup because they wont stop laughing ^^

Naw... they laugh at you more when you walk up to the passenger door, keys in hand, and then go "Doh!"

As some others have said: You'll get used to the shifting really quickly. The trickier bits are learning to judge your lane position, and learning a whole new set of traffic rules. Do they have roundabouts over there?

(slightly off-topic)

Why are the Skylines that are brought here usually RHD cars from Japan originally?

They show LHD R33s and R34s all the time in the middle-east, like in those sideshow clips?

well the only thing i can say about having a RHD in the states is trying to go through a drive thru... u need a passenger if you're gonna attempt to do that.
