retrofit 02 wrx FX projectors help

Hi,

I bought my 02 wrx a few months ago. And saw online that FX projectors can be used to install into my headlights. I was wondering if there was a local installer or shop that can do the retrofit?

Thanks,
Mark

His question seems pretty straight forward.

Seeing as lighting is approved by DOT, I'd assume there is no reputable shop that'll do the project, at least not for a decent price. Besides, after parts and labor, you probably wouldn't be too far from the price of JDM/EDM's

Since you asked me about my retros that I used to own, here's some useful info I found back when I was looking for a set. Take your time, and it shouldn't be too hard.

The Write-up. How To Retrofit FX35 Projectors Into an 02-03 Bugeye - NASIOC

I've owned both, FXR retro and JDM Black Chrome HID with corrected LHD plates, and the FXR's output is 100% better then the stock JDM HIDs, IMO. You can pick up a set of retrofits for $600 now a days (search Nasioc classifieds), and the JDMs are still $800+. Now if you wanted the ultimate set up, buy some JDM black chromes and do a s2k retrofit into that =D

Thanks for the information man! Do you happen to know if the morimoto bixenons are just as good as FX-Rs? I've found someone who's willing to do the retrofit around $650 labor and materials. Or is it worth it for FX-Rs?

Are you talking about the Morimoto minis? I've never heard of those to be honest. About a year ago when I was doing my search, FXRs and s2k projectors were the way to go. The FXRs fill up the bugeye housing quite nicely, so I'd say choose those.

Can't go wrong with FXRs:

My car is lowered, and I'm on a slight downward slope in those pics.

Now that I have a GC, my plan is to get some retros ASAP!

The FX projects will enable you to use hi and low beams... Thats what I have in mine. My cousin did mine for me and he works at a place out in concord that does retro fitting. I can ask him if you'd like...

That'd be great if you could ask him for me. How long have you had them? Any condensation?

I've got a spare 2010 FX35 headlamp assembly I got from a coworker, just need a matching unit (hopefully for cheap) for a retrofit.
