Resetting Stock ECU

I searched the other forums but didnt get the answer I was looking for:

I have an 04 wrx and sometimes the car seems to be lacking when i step on it. i always let my car warm up and give the turbo time to spool, but sometimes the car accecerates very well between 3500-6000 and other times it is weak sauce.

i know hot to reset the ECU, but would it make a difference? Also, is there any harm in doing so?

no harm in reseting you ecu... unplug and press the brakes to drain the system then replug..

also you should just take it into the dealer if its an 04
