Replacing ONE tire...?
Hey guys,
Well I have really bad wear on the inside of one of my right rear tire from driving around without an alignement after installing my coilovers. These are Kumho 712's mounted on 17" Enkei's.
It appears that that one tire needs to be replaced. All the other tires are moderately worn, and could use a replacement as well, but don't need it as bad as this one tire.
I don't want to get all new tires right now because I'm saving up for a new set of rims and tires (which I should get in Nov, by my bday).
My question is, would it be ok to just replace one tire for now, or do I have to replace both rears at the same time?

Alright guys, I'll just wait it out I guess until I get my new rims/tires. Don't feel like getting another set of these Kumho's!

it could be, it just really depends on how bad the one worn tire is going to effect other parts on the car....

They're all work differently, that's the weird thing. Not by much, but by a little bit (most only on the outsides, or inside of the tire, the middle areas of all the tires are all the same).
I guess I'll see what I can do, just don't feel like getting another set of Kumho's =/

Tire rack shaves new tires only, IIRC.
Shaving old tires will dull the blades, little metal pieces and rocks embedded and stuff....

but thats the idea, you buy a new one from them and they shave it to approximate the wear and what's left on your other tires.
But if they're all wearing out soon anyway, you should bite the bullet and replace them all.
On the other hand, if they were close to new, I'd just replace the one and not sweat it much either.

sorry to semi hijack, but would it be okay to replace one tire if it were say 7k of normal wear on the other three? I believe it's only about 1/16th of wear difference.
