Question Is this replaceable?

I was driving my 3000GT and I noticed I had no sound coming out of my subwoofers.

I check the connections on the back of the amp, and it's fine. I open the hood and I find this:

I don't know how it happened. My car generates a sh!tload of heat under the hood, could that possibly cause it to crack open like that?

Or could be be becuase I was overpowering it? This is the first time it's happened to me.

My sub woofers will still work when I push the pieces together and tape it (i put it on low power just in case)

Anyways.. is this piece replaceable??

Or do I have to get a whole new wire setup... *blah*

Has this happened to anybody before?

Thanks in advance for the feedback!!! :-D

Are you talking about just the inline fuse holder? That is easily replaceable and only cost a few bucks. Any stereo shop will have a boat load of them. It probably just came unscrewed, that's all. Even if it broke, I wouldn't worry about it, they are cheap, and made cheaply, so they can brake easy.

Crutchfield has them for $12.99, but I'm sure you could find them cheaper locally.

No matter on the kind. Just make sure it can handle the gauge wire you have (looks like 8, which is what most do) and that the fuse in it is a high enough AMP rating and you you'll be set. If you want the bling of gold or platinum or whatever, that's up to you. Also, if you're concerned about the heat, add a little wire length to the area between the fuse holder and the battery, and hide the fuse holder underneath something. Those little tabs that stick off with the bolt-down holes work well with zip tying to something.

True Story.
