Red Line Parking

hey guys,

i'm just wondering if you guys know anything on this matter, i was parked at a spot with my tailgate on red but my rear tires were nowhere near red just the tailgate, i believe that i read somewhere but can't find it anymore that if the rear wheels are not on red they cannot ticket or tow the car correct?

the California Driver Handbook doesn't specify, but I believe it's something you should avoid because a firetruck WILL push your car out of the way, or an officer might ticket you for your vehicle for being into the red zone.

and a random little thing I read http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m..._/ai_n15819045
obviously the LEO's pretty much always win.

Having your car pushed should be the least of your worries:

well it was a truck so i don't believe that they would punch thru the windows for that and there was no fire hydrant there just the bed was on red nothing else.

that doesn't answer the question of if they can tow or ticket it.

shouldn't park in red, but i think that 4 inch in the red shouldn't get a ticket.

Its all common sense. Personally, i wont park next to red unless i have at least a foot of clear curb.

so no, you cant park your truck next to red even when the bed overhangs your wheelbase by 3 or 4 feet. (thats the whole point of the red zone, it doesnt have anything to do with your wheels touching the ground. So that means Hovercars cant park in the red )
