Red Light Cams to appear in San Mateo
Hey for all of you San Mateo residents and commuters:
Cameras to be placed at lights
http://www.sanmateocountytimes.com/S...774127,00.html
So be careful with those downshift for yellow intersections.
If I am understanding the article correctly it looks liek they will be using a monitoring vendor for this program.
I do believe that in Commiefornia..I mean Kalifornia....I mean California, if you are issued the citation by the vendor you can go to court state it was issued by the vendor, and is therefore inadmissable = no ticket. So if you get nabbed look into it if the letter/citation comes from the vendr not the PD or local court.
Have fun and be safe!

Does San Mateo also have those countdown "dont walk" lights? I love those. They've kept me much more conscious about red lights.

I agree that the countdown timers are awesome. And even though they are annoying as hell, the chirping noise they make is great. I know they have reminded me to look again when I was going to make a right on red or go through a yield.
I heard somewhere that they are planning on placing these at the major intersections first, then replacing all of them as the old ones wear out. If I come across the article or link I will let y'all know.
