Oh how I've been inactive on the forums.

So my uncle has been driving my car for the past year. He came home one day with white smoke coming out and a somewhat "sweet" smell. I'm told its either a blown head gasket or a possible crack on the block.

If anyone could please recommend a shop in or near Milpitas that could help out with this. Also any other tips and advice would highly be appreciated.

 

Yup, sounds like it is definitely one of those two unfortunately. May be on the expensive side for some things, though he quoted me a good price for HG on my OBS is Mann Engineering in Santa Clara. Mann Engineering

Ah cool thanks thanks for the input. I will check some of those out. Mann Engineering doesn't seem like its too far from me.

I did a quick search and found GP Motorwerke in Milpitas. (Gp Motorwerke - Milpitas, CA) One of the the yelp reviews specifically mentions an 03 WRX being worked on.. this gives me hope!

Yes, they do know their ****. Once the motor is out, it's nothing but finding the order of stuff to do and tq down.

I would go kevin at AUTOHQ, hes my lead master mechanic that does trustworthy work in redwood city.

Or I would go to Mert at RBMS AutoCare in Hayward, also does immaculate engine builds and all other walks of projects.
