Recommended Mechanics in the East Bay for "older" Subies?

I have a 2012 Impreza that I have been taking to an independent shop in Albany. However, I've recently experienced some issues with their Subie knowledge and basic service "must do's" to the extent that I really don't want to use them again.

Therefore I am seeking recommendations for a Subaru mechanic in the East Bay who is honest, reliable, will tell you when work "has" to be done on an older car, will do the basic standard services (oil change, tire rotation etc.), knows what warranties are still available for "older" Subies ... so they won't reset codes and nearly cost you $$$ for repairs that should have been done under warranty.

Ideal would be somewhere within walking distance of BART in Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito or Orinda - though I will consider traveling further for the right mechanic.

Tried and true RBMS on Industrial in Hayward. I think you'd still have to do your research on any warranty stuff though, since most independent shops might not be aware of all of that. Or make friends with a Subaru service advisor haha.

Thanks. I'll check them out if I don't find a place closer to home.

I had been trying to get my car into RBMS for like 2 years and they where too busy. I drove to M45 in Auburn.

Not so many good shops for Subies these days, so I am not surprised they are busy. When I go to Mann, it usually takes me about a month to get in.

Sounds like finding a local generalist is a better bet since my car is not modified. At least I have the Carson City Subaru dealership connection now for warranty questions.

There was a highly rated shop in Berkely I posted in a previous thread, but I don't see a listing for them anymore. I think they might be gone.

I have used Kuno's in Redwood City also, they were good, but far for me. Not strictly Subaru anymore, but I liked them.
