Recommended mechanic on the peninsula?

Recommended mechanic on the peninsula?
Can anyone recommend a shop on the Peninsula for routine maintenance and maybe a few mods? I've been entirely satisfied with Carlsen's service dept for warranty stuff, but I'm not thrilled about their prices ...

MPJ (Hayward), Gruppe-S (Hayward), AHQ (Redwood City) is run by Kevin from Carlsen I believe and a bunch of others like Lic (Novato). Can't go wrong with any of those I would think.

I went to a place called Kuno in Redwood City for part of my 30k service. I had them do my tranny, diff and coolant change. I chatted with the mechanic and he sounded like he knows Subies and there were a few other Subies in their bays.
For those 3 things, they charged me ~ $70. IIRC, their 30k tuneup was about $375 but I did the rest of the stuff myself.

has anyone been able to get a hold of Kevin? I called his cell like 10 times and the shop 10 times - no answer. Is he on vacation or something? I am too lazy to drive down to the shop and check.
Alan Rice Automotive in Santa Cruz. I was recommended to go to him by McDrama, so I went. Great price and he's got a history with working with Mazda & Subaru. McDrama said he was one of the original mechanics at Santa Cruz Subaru (and you can trust those guys). Very very fair pricing
