No, I don't work for Dish and I don't have any dealings with them at all other than being a customer for about 4-5 years now.

I've done cable, I've done directv, I've seen Uverse (which looks great, but costs a lot more per channel and is limited on HD content).

All I ask is, do your homework!

I have to say that you can watch any ABC show the next day after airing, in a HD stream (with fast enough internet connection, like 4Mbit i think.) Looks damn good for internet stream. most cable and Directv HD channels suck in comparison!

Comcast

Everything I post is my opinion, and tends to be notoriously WRONG. Anything that is correct, can only be attributed to my being dropped on my head as a small child - repeatedly.

Comcast is WAY too expensive. They have a good quality picture and tons of services via onDemand, but not for the prices they charge.

Their picture is utter crap. Cable is the most compressed form of TV distribution.

for the money i think it's a good trade. You'll get much better TV, but you will lose out on internet speed, esp in upload speeds. But for the casual internet user it's more about download speeds and Uverse supports good DL speeds.

If you were to sign up today for dish network you could get 250 national channels for $48/mo (63/mo after 1 year). and for $10 more a month you can get another 80 channels in HiDef.

For the number of channels you get, esp in HD, at that quality, it can't be beat.
I swear I just saw a commercial for Dish and it said $24 a month for like 200 ch or something like that too..could be wrong tho

Your other (least legal) option is to keep your satellite equipment and get yourself a recoded DTV card that unlocks all the channels including PPV 100% of the time. The going rate for someone to make you these is about 100-200 bucks a pop depending on the services you want, how much he likes you and what machine he's using to make the cards.
where can i get one?

Uverse has 110 HD channels right now... So I really dint think that is limited. Comcast has 40 at most. I think the best picture is with DirecTV

DirecTV is CRAP, better crap than cable, but still crap. It's the most compressed form of satellite transmission. I mean if you can see macroblocking on ****ing HD channels on a new LCD, your **** is compressed ****ing way too much.

But it makes sense because DirecTV has only 1 or 2 actual satellites in the space. Whereas Dish has over 6 from one end of the US to the other. I at home hit 4 different satellites off Dish.

Less compression is your friend...
