really snowy roads

just got back from the snow. we went to Bear valley and this is what we had to drive through on the way up and back. lots of fun. was my first time driving in snow that was like 1-2 inches deep, once we got to the park it was like 3-4 inches in some places kinda sucked because my car is low and was acting like a plow. the wheel wells were so packed with snow we had to get out and clear them out a few times because you could hear the wheels rubbing.

the vid.
the sound sucks sorry. turn down your speakers

if you come up again and you are in murphys before 2pm.. stop by a place called Foothills restaurant.. hella good food and not bad pricing.

We went to figero's/the growler the other day. Killer pizza and good beer.

You should come ride with us sometime. My brother and I are up all the time. Tan colorado. We usually eat breakfast down at just delicious. Look for the tan truck with a dude with a buzz cut, 6'1" and a fat *** with dark hair and a gottee. That would be me.

About how far is Bear Valley from San Jose? My buddies are telling me 2.5 hrs but Mapquest is saying 3.5 hrs??? Planning on changing it up this weekend and hitting Bear instead of Tahoe.

I've made it to BV from hayward in under 2 hours but I wouldn't advise trying it.

I'd count on about 3 hours. It takes about 3.5 from my place in watsonville.

2.5 to 3 is about right depending on weather.

If you head up to BV give me a call on your way up... I'll be up Friday/Sat/Sun.

You'll be happy you did it. It'll be far less crowded and the snow is gonna RIP.

3.5 sounds about right. When I lived near SJSU, it took me about 3hrs15min including a pit stop on day trips. Mind you... this was w/ clear roads though. You'll obviously have to acct for conditions, esp. since more snow is slated to hit on starting on Sat after the 2-3 day bluebird break.
