Angry RANT: Walnut Creek Police = INCOMPETENT

Not sure if you heard, but a Bank of the West in Walnut Creek was robbed at gunpoint today, and the criminals got away.

http://cbs5.com/local/bank.robbery.walnut.2.668404.html

The sad truth is that this bank is only a few blocks away from the police department, its right down the street! I dont know if you've ever been to WC but it is SWARMING with cops! I worked downtown for over 3 years and they are everywhere. And you know what really takes the cake here? The robbers fled in a f**king GREEN SCRAPER! How could they not find a green scraper getting hyphy on the run??

This seriously pisses me of, I (and many of my friends) have been harassed countless times by the WCPD but when a REAL crime happens, where are they? I mean, try skateboarding downtown and within minutes you will have 2-3 cop cars on your *** writing citations, mocking you and threating to haul you off to jail

Cliff notes: Walnut Creek PD = Worthless.

WALNUT CREEK (BCN) ? Walnut Creek police were looking for two men who robbed a Bank of the West at gunpoint Monday morning and a third who drove the getaway car.

At about 9:36 a.m. two black men in their 20s, both about 6 feet tall and wearing hooded sweatshirts and possibly wearing ski masks, entered the 2050 N. California Blvd. bank branch, and displayed automatic handguns, police reported.

One of the men stood in the lobby area while the other man walked up to a teller, handed the teller a bag and told the teller to put money in the bag.

The teller complied with the order and put an undisclosed amount of cash in the bag, police reported.

The second suspect then approached a second teller, handed over a second bag and gave the same order, police reported.

One of the men then told the other that it was "time" and they quickly left the bank.

They were seen getting into a 1998 to 2000 green, four-door Buick that was driven by a third suspect described only as a black male.

Walnut Creek police were notified of the robbery by the bank's "Hold-up" alarm, police reported. When police called the bank, employees confirmed that the bank had just been robbed.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.

What's going on with all these bank robbery? I was just at a local bank in Santa Clara this past Saturday. While I was there taking care of some banking stuff with a desk clerk. A robbery was in progress without me knowing until I was done, walked out of the bank and bunch of police officers outside carrying assault rifles! Yeah, the guy got away too!

Wondering if it has to do with the crappy economy and people getting desperate.

The only thing I can say is that they jumped on the freeway which is like a minute from where they were. Once on the freeway, you can be gone quick.

I use to skate a lot in Walnut Creek. Seems like most times it takes about 5 minutes from the time your board on the ground to the time until you have a police officer asking you not to skate there. Next, I called WCPD to report a drunk driver leaving the movie theatre parking lot; on a saturday night (seems like every cop on duty is within a 1 minute WALK of that place). Just watched the people drive off. Never saw the cops come. I think they are afraid of doing their job.

walnut creek cops aren't prepared for that kinda crime... they are only trained to give out non violent citations, hassle youth and break up domestic abuse.

I wonder if they would have been caught if "stuff" was coming out of their exhaust?

CommonWealth Credit Union in MV off of 85 closed because it was too close to 85 and 237, like 100 yards from 85.

Wow, I bought my '01 RS coupe in that parking lot. I think I jumped right on the freeway directly after, however I had just left all my cash there.

WCPD was probably busy busign someone for a loud exhaust, or tint, or no front plate rather than doing real police work.
