Also, if anyone has any suggestions on other places to post this info (other boards) please let me know. There more poeple that come out, the merrier. I think I covered the basics by spamming i-club, nasioc, clubwrx, wrxfanatics, evolutionm, and vwvortex. I don't know how many people from those boards aren't afraid of the dirt, but hey...

Complete noobs are welcome. There are always several people who have never done it before. It's basically autocross on the dirt, and you can go as fast or slow as you feel comfortable since it's one car out at a time.
The biggest issue you'll have is a dirty car at the end of the day. And that all really depends how you drive. Some drivers are a bit more mellow and tend not to kick up mountains of dirt. You'll want to run higher pressure in your tires. We had some muddy clay parts last time and that claimed a couple plastic OEM skid plates, but not on any Subies. It should be 100% dried out this time though.

I had a lot of dirt stuck at my jackup plate and the driver side brake air duct. I had dirt falling off of my car on my home. they were still falling off when I was in the Fremont area Some just wouldn't come off and I had to 'pick' them out. My crappy plastic PEM skid plate held up, but did rip one of the clips off and bunch of dirt got in the brake air duct.
Man, i love to go, but now it's $40 for 4 laps... I don't know if I want to continue anymore... drive 3 hours one way to race 4-5 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I have a blast everytime I attend. But like Pete said, I should consider 'dollar per mile'...

Yeah, that mud/clay stuff hardened into rock.
It sucks we had to raise prices by $5... and we're still looking for venues closer to the Bay Area. Other than having to drive to Willows, the price per minute is just about the same as Solo II (SCCA members pay $30 for 4 runs at RallyCross, and pay $25 for 3 runs at AutoCross). And still cheaper than $45 for 3 runs down in SoCal.

Incidently, the couse is all planned out and it's going to totally rock. We think the time though the course should be a little over a minute for even the fastest drivers. Hint: make sure those e-brake levers are tight
In terms of dirt and damage; one of the best parts is driving around for a few days with your car covered in dirt and mud with numbers on the side. Every now and then someone loses a fender liner ($30 new to replace) or a skid tray or something. It's by far the best and safest way/place to play with your car in the dirt (as it was meant to be).

It looks like Sports Car International magazine will be at the event (reporter, photographer, and driver) working on an article for RallyCross. Their photographer will be selling photos from the event as well. Subaru is lending them a Subaru press car for the event, but I don't know what the "press car" is...
[Edit... so of course, all this means he (or 'she' since this next pic is of Megan) with the best action shot for the photographer wins! Right?! ]

It was just pointed out to me that the car is actually heading the wrong way around this turn, probably resulting in a DNF.
