Rally Light Status
so im gonna get some rally lights.
Hella 500s are the cheapest, they have driving and fog versions. $70 kit
Hella 3000 have cornering version, but theyre massive at 8.5 inches. $120 kit
i really want the cornering lights, all i want to acheive is lighting up a hairpin corner, nothing too far, just lights that will go 90 degrees on the side of my car, about 50 feet on the side, in front isnt too important, maybe 500 feet, and light up the hairpin so i can stay on the gas and not drive off the cliff.
questions:
so are Hella FOGS the same as CORNERING lamps? it looks like the cornering ones are better.
any info would be awesome!

no, the fogs are a different beam pattern than the cornering lamps. Fogs are very good for (gasp) in the fog, but not too much use any other time. I would advise getting the driving lamps, then the cornering lamps. Don't bother with the pencil beams or the fogs unless you've got a lot of amperage to spare coming out of your alternator. (btw, make sure you have enough juice to power those lights coming from the alt.

ok so i can snag the kragen ones, the 500s even though they are a driving beam (similar to a pencil beam right?)
i guess i can point them at 45 deg each side.

true pencils are very different than driving beams. pencils are great if you need to see what's coming up 1500 feet straight ahead, driving beams are great for bathing everything withing 100 yards of the front of the car is glorious light.

thanks that helps alot, ive never been inside a car with the "driving" pattern. looks like those are the ones to get then.
