WTF is with all the radar with the cameras on the light poles along 280? Since when did this **** go up. Every god damn onramp/offramp theres one, even inbetween some. I dont speed, its just annoying as hell to be monitored so much. Anyone have any information on it?

 

are you serious...i was flying down 280 from san fransisco last night....at uh...illegal speeds....

 

yea, its really lame, i dunno what there for, maybe to see the average speed or something. Or maybe to let the cops know that such and such car is speeding one exit before where the cop is. Eitherway, i think its bull****, nothing ever really happens on 280 from redwood city to mountain view area, yet like every 1/2 a mile theres a radar thing with a camera on it. When you drive down 280, look at the lightposts right before and after onramps and you will see a camera type thing up on it.

sig alert is used a lot on the news especially during rush hour. im guessing its just to monitor how fast or how slow traffic is moving.

and yesterday I was also speeding down 280 coming from Daly City. i wanted to try out my new turbo

so is that website just for traffic accidents, or does it tell you where cops are on patrol? also, if you guys are worried about having your picture taken while cruisng at those "illegal speeds" just get some photoblocker spray for your plates

 

Maybe it's just me, but the idea of photoblocker spray on plates is stupid. They advertise not getting red light tickets from it. So, does that mean people are gonna start running more red lights?

Cause I sure as hell drive at considerably less-than-legal speeds on that stretch of road...

 

Well, I assume not just cause I know many people have driven at well over 100mph on that HWY and not been mailed a ticket.

 

I think they are for traffic monitoring more than anything else.

It would be hard as heck to pick out speeders with a radar/camera set up on a highway

 

yeah, agreed. I was thinking the CHP probably monitors it as well to see if people are going too fast and that is when they send out a cruzer.
