Racetech Seats

Anyone here install a Racetech seat in their car? If so, how did you work out the mount? I am probably going to be purchasing one of those seats soon and am trying to figure out the mount situation. It doesn't look too difficult to fab up some mounts but, then again, it's a whole lot easier in racecars.

i made a mount for my Sparco, used 1/4" by 1" steel flats, bent them, clamped them into place, welded, drilled. It fits nice.

For the side mounts i bought 1" x 4" L shaped aluminum for $17 drilled and brought my sparco inside of a hardware store to find the right bolts haha. not too hard carrying it in since its only 18 lbs

if you really want i can take some pics

I'm trying to picture it in my head. I have some drawings I made based on the brackets you can get from racetech. If you could snap a picture or two I would appreciate it.

this is pretty close to mine, i know one floor mount is bent inwards to allow more storage underneath the seat.

I'll get some pics sometime.

But buying a $750 seat for $300, im not about to spend another $300 on mounting and sliders...its a joke if you ask me. LIC said my mounts were stiffer than the Sparco ones, which was good since i was afraid they would pass tech for a track day autocross etc.

Red are bolts and blue are welds, the welded bars are floating on the rear bar that goes from driveshaft lump to door. Its also good to keep them floating so you can make them parallel to eachother so your "L" shape aluminum pieces will have enough meat to drill or bolt thru.

If you would like a custom mount mate let us know, we use Racetech's in all of our cars and now have GOTO:Racing's Brian Lock working from our facility doing work such as this on a daily basis.

If you would like to take a seat in the various options available from Racetech swing by we usually have 2-3 cars minimum equipped with them here at any time.

Thanks! I might have to take you up on that offer. I've been trying to find a shop with the seats in inventory so I can test drive them. I've been looking at a RT 4000 or 4009 in the wide or extra wide model.

Griggs Racing used to have a few in their showroom but, they don't have any more on display. Would have been perfect since I drive by the track everyday to and from work.
