R&T: STi vs EVO

I just got the new Road & Track today.

STi:
0-60: 4.9
0-1320: 13.3 @ 103.0
braking: 60 mph 111ft

Evo:
0-60: 4.8
0-1320: 13.4 @ 103.0
braking: 60 mph 108 ft !!!

When you read the 3 existing major mag articles on the new STi, it becomes very clear that the 'numbers' printed depend greatly on the skill of the driver and his/her ability to get a good launch. That being said, it would appear the EVO has an edge in confident handling at the limits and the STi kicks its butt in the motor dept (particularly in real world driving).

All in all, I'd take either, but would spend $$ on the STi when it comes time to trade in my '02 WRX.

this really pisses me off... that lancer is not what a production car is puttin down... mitsubishi is being a *****... too bad subaru has more honesty than them, and isn't giving out ECU tuned versions of the sti, (like how mitsubishi is for the media/press EVO) or else those numbers would be a different story....
