Quick question: What's the best way to shave your head bald?
Hello all,
I need to shave my head for my Halloween costume, not just a zero guard buzz, but I'm talking about shaving it completely bald (read Hitman).
What's the best method of doing this without getting irritation on my scalp? I'm thinking of going out and buying some clippers, buzzing it, then taking a razor to my head and getting rid of any kind of stubble... Is there a way I can do this without having to go out and buy clippers? I don't suppose I can just use a razor, can I? I'm just afraid that my hair is too long to be using just a straight razor and I'm also afraid that my scalp will get irritated if I use a razor... Does anyone do this normally? Can you give me some quick tips so that I can do it right the first time without any surprises.
I know it's a weird thing to ask but I don't want to screw this up.
If you're wondering, I'm going as Agent 47 again this year, only this time I'm really going to shave my head all the way instead of using one of those bald caps.

Dude, good luck. If you want to do it right, get some clippers and a fresh blade on your razor. Use lots of shaving cream. On second thought, have your wife do it for you. Doing it yourself is going to be a mess.

Shave it first with your trimmers. Take it down with a longer setting. Then like a 2. Then no guard.
Then shave it. I'd suggest getting your head nice and warm. Like take a hot shower then get a wash cloth and get it nice and hot and a little damn and set that on there... the warmth and moisture will help reduce razor burn and eeze pain.
I'd highly suggest getting a head blade or having someone else shave it for you. Go to a solid barber shop and have it done or something like that.
A quality barber can work wonders with a strait razor.
I would NOT just use a razor. It will take FOREVER and you'll end up screwing up your head.... not to mention go through $30 in blades. Borrow some trimmers if you need to. If you don't want to buy any then go hit up a barber shop.
Drop a line to Big Jim in San Jose. He can hook it up.

Thanks guys, this is exactly why I posted this thread... I didn't want to screw around after what happened last time (Nothing really bad happened, it was just a mess and took forever).

Mission accomplished.
Found a pair of clippers that I had in the bathroom (no idea I had these, score!). I buzzed my own head with no guard which left a tiny bit of stubble, then I soaked my head in hot water (as per Ray's advice), applied shaving cream and had my wife shave my head totally bald using a 5 bladed razor (which also vibrates, best razor ever!). My head is sooooooo white that it pretty much glows in the dark!
It feels really funny to have hair this short. Ive had a buzzed head (no guard buzz) but never this short... It's just skin so it feels really weird when you touch it. I can also feel any sort of breeze which is something Im def not used to.
Thanks for the tip, everything went well and no ingrowns, cuts, or anything of that nature.
