Quick question: Is Valium safe to take?

I'm afraid as hell of flying and was given some valium to allow me to fly without freaking out... I've never had this stuff, is it safe to take without any weird side effects? Anyone know? Is there anything better? Wanna trade? lol

Seriously though, anyone take this stuff before?

Yes Valium is just fine to take. My sister just flew to Washington and she was prescribed the same thing. It's for anxiety most the time and all it does is make you relax and chill. I never saw any side affects when I took it myself, but every person is different.

All you wanted to know and more:

Short answer: One of its uses is to treat anxiety and the relief of high anxiety SHOULD outweigh any of it's typical mild side effects.

Always consult your physician when taking prescription medication

I think taking a synthetic prescribed medicine that you aren't prescribed is always a terrible choice, just my opinion.

Maybe try taking one before the trip to make sure it doesn't make you sick or has any other adverse effects. You don't want to find out when you're actually on the plane .

They gave me 2 valium for my eye surgery and all it really does is make you relaxed and chill. It also has a euphoric effect similar to alcohol.

Real question: why are you afraid of flying? No point in being scared. If you're going down, you're going down. Better to enjoy the free fall. lol.

The same reason people are afraid of heights or claustrophobic. Flying is a combo of the two

Exactly right, I f'ing HATE heights and I HATE closed spaces... The plane is even smaller for me since I'm like 14 feet tall.
