quick! need "home style mexican" restaurant in Campbell area

Actually west san jose. My dad is coming in from out of town and he wants "home style mexican food". We'll be in the west san jose / campbell area so prefer stuff near there.

want:
- good "home style" mex (not Chevy's tex mex)
- clean
- family friendly

Well, I'm not mexican so I can't vouch for home style mexican, but... Casa Vicky's near downtown SJ is great. Nothing at all like chevys. They also have great roasted whole chickens.

El Burro. It's in some strip mall/business park, but it's good. Don't have any more info than that, but you can look it up.

Edit: It's in Campbell, btw

There is this awesome place off of Hamilton on Winchester called Ricardo's. Hole in the wall with really good food.

Ricardo's El Huarache Veloz Mexican Restaurant
1750 Winchester Blvd, San Jose, 408 370-7799

I know a pretty good hole-in-the-wall spot but it's not in Campbell.....

Mexico Ciy Restaurant

1616 Almaden Rd
San Jose, CA 95125
(408) 275-6633

It looks like a dump from the outside, but inside it looks pretty good and the food their great.

Oh, and the Burrito Factory on Camden is pretty good too as Stupid Dent recommended.

all of these places suck! (never been to any of them, hehe!)

Everything I've found in SJ is taqueria style. Nothing against it, but if you want a sit down place you need to go to Fiesta Del Mar in Mountain View. Still very close. right at Shoreline Blvd and 101.

You'll be happy if you go there. The house margaritas are the bomb!

Don't know if this is too late, but there's a place on Winchester and Hamilton called Los Dos Compadres, which is very good. Fast service. And in San Jose...
TLAQUEPAQUE... it's on Willow Rd. Food is the bomb, their Chavelas are the bomb, but they only have like 3 waiters, so it takes a little time. But it's well worth the wait

Amen!! Mexico City is great! and since it's just a couple of blocks from the office it's kinda the norm for me and some co-workers...
