Question for those attend road track regularly

How often do you replace your tires and brakes?

BTW, I have a seperate question here...
https://www.i-club.com/forums/drivetrain-67/how-long-did-your-original-clutch-last-108827/

Thanks!

Tires- I went to probably 5 or 6 very rough track days on my Kumho Ecsta MX's, I am just now getting new tires (approx. 13K miles)

Brake pads- Second set of Axxis Ultimates, I am hard on my brakes, but not as hard as some people are.

It all depends on the style of your driving.

Thanks Kimbo! So how many track events did your first set of Axxis go through?

Hmm, probably about 6 or 7. But that includes my first few track days wheree i barely used my brakes at all. Aftermarket brake pads are definitly worth it, i went through my stock rears hella fast

It also depends a lot on what track you go to, depending on what type of tarmac, is it a high speed track or a short track. Do you hit burms correctly or not. and last but not leased do yourself a faver and dont use your e-brake after hitting the track, you will warp your roters.

Thanks Max, Kim, and John! I am planning on attending HPDE with NASA Pro so that would be Thunderhill and Infineon Raceway. Just trying budget for this year and next year. Thanks! Anybody else?

I don't have a Subaru but I used to go through a set of Azenis RT215 every 6 months or so. About 2-3 track days, autocross every 2-3 weeks (about 10 in 6 months) and 15,000 miles of driving.

For brakes, I used Hawk HP Plus and they last about the same. Brake fluid change every other track day.

So in summary
3 track days, 10 autocrosses, 15K miles = 1 set of Azenis
3 track days, 10 autocrosses, 15K miles = 1 set of HP Plus pads and 2 brake fluid changes

Not too bad actually.

Track days are really hard on your brakes. Autocross is more hard on the tires than brakes. But I was running 12" rotors and 4 piston front brakes on a 2800 lb. car.

I'm going to Thunderhill for the Nasa day on September 10th, it'll be my second. I really enjoyed the first one, I got a new found appreciation for my scooby even on standard brakes and tyres.

I am debating if I should go to both 10 and 11 or just one of them...

I don't know about this one with the wrx (other cars, yes). I've been tracking my wagon for the past 2.5 years now and have never warped my rotors from using my e-brake after a session.

I'm pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong, but the wrx has a separate drum brake for the e-brake and it doesn’t come in contact/engage your rear rotors.

what lance says is true.
in all the time i tracked i have never warped my brakes because of e-brake

in terms of wear/tear.... i go through tires (s03's) in prolly 5 days (and that's getting past the good stuff) ra1's prolly 3 days (but got 'em at alms... qualifying had me downs)
brakes.. when i used axxis ultimates, it was about every other track day i'd have to replace the pads (front)
in stock rotors, i replaced them like 3-4 events (they cracked for me)
but then again, i've also cracked rotors clear through on a bbk
