Question for Mac users - What RAM to get?

I have a Mac G5 (Dual 1.8ghz), it has 512mb of RAM. I want to add more...at least double it.

What should I do for max performance? I was thinking of adding 1 gig, but should I buy 2 512's or 1 one gig? WHats f4stAr?

ALso, whats the best nowdays? I think mine has the SDDR-RAM..actually I dont know, I just made that up :P

How much will this put me out of pocket? $200 is my budget.

2 gigs, damn! Did it make a difference? I have a ton of videos/pics/music stored (~140gigs) and its been feeling a bit sluggish lately.

Im hoping more ram would do the trick.

i believe more memory would help, but you need some hard disk space as well. right after boot up, 10.4 uses almost 300mb of my memory already. get an external drive too since you are shopping. LOL

I already have a 300gb external drive (Maxtor 1 touch, pretty awesome!).

I may buy another ~100gb to add internally.

If I had a choice i'd get a 3500, I have a 1500 now with the small V8, but a 3500 with a cummings diesel would be sick.

I thought your name was zeob, not mac.

The thread is not "Question for zeob - What RAM to get"
