Question to the home networking gurus

I'm trying to get a secondary router to be a Wireless Access Point.

Currently, I have an ASUS RT-N13U w/ dd-wrt as my main router (connected to the cable modem) with a cat5 cable connected to the LAN port of a Netgear WNDR3400 w/ dd-wrt.

I've followed this guide to a T: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...s_Access_Point

However, if I connect wirelessly to the Netgear, I don't have any internet connection. Can't ping anything, but I can connect to the router's ip just fine. If I connect through an ethernet cable, I can connect to the internet just fine.

The Netgear worked fine as a stand-alone router, so the wifi should be okay. Any ideas?

Routers aren't usually plug and play when it comes to being downstream of other routers.

Asus routers are great since many of access point modes.

Maybe consider switching them around if that's the case?

Do you have more than one DHCP server operating? Also make sure all your devices are on the same subnet if you want them to see each other.

Check that DCHP is off on 2nd router and it has a different IP than the 1st one.
