Question Question: Fmic & Tmic...

Hey i have an injen fmic setup w/ a FP 18g turbo, and other supporting mods. I was wondering if i took out the injen fmic and installed a large tmic would i need a tune? The injen fmic is pretty small some people say you have just as much lag with a tmic, so I'm not sure if i would need a re-tune.

TIA Daniel

you'll have way less leg with a tmic, esp since you have a 2L.
what tmic were u thinkin? iv'e seen the APS ones and they look/perform good..

as for a re-ture, i'd really consider it .
tmic = like a foot of piping from the turbo and intake manifold
and fmic = like 5 feet.. so theres guna be a difference in the way everything works together.
hope this helps

ps. im getting a c16 tune from GST on the 19th of June along w/ a 30k mile service =]

Or you can get a reverse intake manifold and run a FMIC, way less piping!

APS tmic is WAY too overpriced.
$800 for a tmic IMO is lame. just buy an ebay one and see the same numbers.

I'd definitely recommend a re-tune or at the very least have your tuner check that the current tune is safe with the changed parts. The TMIC will have a large impact on overall boost control and may result in spiking and overboosting.

Thanks

I have a couple of giant ebay TMIC's. One that I ran for some time, and one brand new. PM if interested - they are cheap
