Question on Batteries
So I've had my car for about 4 yrs now and havent replaced the battery I dont have a stereo system or anything that would drain the battery.
Lately Ive been having to get my car jumped every other day, once i get it jumped my car starts up fine but after a few days in the morning i'll have to jump it, so does that mean my battery isnt holding a charge? is it my alternater? or starter?
Also my co worker has an extra battery from a 96 honda accord would that work on our cars?
BTW: i have an 01 RS
any help would be greatly appreciated...

4 yrs you probably need a new battery. It's possible that there may be other things wrong but most often its the battery and at 4 yrs old its probably time for replacement. You will need a known good battery to diagnose other problems yourself in any case.
Your friend's battery might work if the size is about the same and the terminals are of the same type but unless you are really pinching the pennies you are probably better off with a new battery. They generally cost around $60 although I haven't priced one for a Subaru.
You can get batteries at Kragen or other fine auto parts stores and there are fairly easy to install yourself with a few simple tools. I recommend getting the corrosion resitant felt washers and spraying the terminals with the corrosion resistant sealer if you install it yourself.

You can have the battery tested. In theory, Kragen does this for free but whenever I have tried to have them do it they claim that their machine is broken. Happened to me at two different stores a day apart. Lazy buggers.
