That is awesome, I helped paint the 3D ship on the movie Posiden, and we modeled that ship after the Queen Mary. That thing is insane!!!!

Actually, the captain said 12 feet while being interviewed on 1 of the news channels.

What do you expect when somebody has 80+ days of vacation time to spend hanging out on a boat?

Oh man, I went to ATP (All Tomorrow's Parties) which was hosted there at the QM1. Half the show was in the ship itself (awesome show by the way). I went to the bathroom on the ship, and found a door that was propped open. I gave myself a tour of the ship for the next 4 or so hours. Burned out a keychain light, and burned the crap out of my hand the rest of the time with my Bic. I found the pool which was amazing and got pretty freaked out below decks. I WISH I woulda had my camera and a better light, there was some truly incredible things to see in there. It was a childhood dream for me...

Too bad I missed the QM2. Nice to hear a luxury liner ticket is still out of reach for us normal people. What a shame. I would do many things to be able to take a ride on that ship, even though it's nothing at all like the QM1 in it's spirit or motivation.

Nice pics!!

"The huge ship cleared the bottom of the span by 12 feet, according to the captain."
