Pulled a fast one-Alameda Sheriff-kinda long

Got pulled over 3 weeks ago for no front plates (wrb 04 Sti)...Anyway, I've been putting off going to the DMV to get a new set (misplaced my old ones) so I thought why not bring my wife's silver 04 WRX Wagon instead since it had the front plates and get my ticket signed off..(Mind you, I looked over my ticket a few times and you can't hardly read the scribble that they write)...so I figured, I should be able to pull this off...Boy, was I wrong!!! Upon inspection, the officer immediately noticed that the license plate on the ticket didn't match the car...being a quick thinker that I am, I told him that I lost the old ones and these are 2 day old replacement that I got from the DMV. He then asked for a copy of the registration, (I'm already starting to get nervous at this point), I said, I must've left it in my briefcase at home....He then said, "no problem, let me just check it on the computer to make sure." Oh ****! I'm still playing it cool at this point, then I said, I live pretty close, I can just go home and get the registration papers...(and not come back)...He said, "you don't have to, this will only take a second." (****3, point of no return) So we walk back to the front office...at this point, I'm freakin thinking of an excuse once he finds out what I did (make up another sad story or something)...2 minutes later, he comes out and asked me whose name is the car registered to?...Gave my wife's name and he freakin didn't say anything...signed off the ticket...and away I went (almost ****ting my pants)...hahaha....Moral of the story? You figure it out! All I know is I got away from a sure misdemeanor and not having to wait in line at the DMV...Kids, don't attempt to do this stunt...hahaha

LOL way too risky bro...I would have just told him the truth about the plates being lost and that you needed some kind of extension. Count your blessings...

I got the ticket in Daly City and I don't think you can get an extension just like that without going to court or something...Believe me, I'm so glad I pulled it off....Now if only my friend who works at the DMV would return my calls, so I can take care of this once and for all...It would really suck if next time I get pulled over for that stupid "no plates", they ask to pop the hood and I get into more trouble!

I hate going to the DMV!!! See what I had to do, just to avoid going? Hahaha...

if you were a real "quick (smart) thinker," you wouldn't be gabbing too much about pulling premeditated crime(s) on a public internet forum. it's a smaller world than you think.

Yeah, I agree...but by the time they actually figure this out or if they would even lift a finger to research and prosecute a violation that can be corrected by a simple "fix-it" ticket, what it all comes down to...they F'ked up as well. I probably would have had my replacement plates by then too I just wanted to share a close encounter...

Unless they wanted to harrass you...

...in which case they have some more serious charges they can bring.
