I know there are a few of you on here that are artists/designers. You probably already know this information, but figured I would post a link to it.

SOOOOOOOOOO TRUE....
any professional artist/designer should know better than to fall into these but all of us have fallen into one or more at least once...I sure as hell have.
No. 3 Great exposure. I just got out of a year long deal I had going with a magazine that kept saying this.....funny....I never got ONE response from it. See...exposure for them yes. Exposure for you takes them being humble and saying..yeah our artist so and so did that. Never happens.
I've heard all of those.
Any professional should know better than to leave artwork behind. I've sadly done it and seen my artwork on people's cd's, ads, etc without my name attached or check attached. Shoot I just saw the COVER of a magazine and the entire center feature based off of artwork stolen from me when I was out in S.F. All they did was change my blue to green and change the edge flowers out.
those are classic. That should be posted in every freelancers home office.

That's why I like working for companies instead of freelance, less bull you have to put up with, a steady paycheck, and you get benefits!
Don't get me wrong I had worked at ILM for nearly 7 years, and the first 4 years I got raped as far as pay goes, then after that I put the foot down, and started cashing in some doe. Now I'm at Tippet Studio and still make an income I'm happy with. Point is once you pay the dues and establish some sort of reputable name for yourself, it starts to be a little more rewarding!
werd!
