PSA: Crossing double yellows = illegal!

I know we all enjoy a spirited drive from time to time, but @Doc Neon, crossing double yellows is illegal. Worst of all, you did so into a blind left hand turn! You are jeopardizing the lives of those who participate in the meet/drive and bystanders simply because of your wreckless behavior.

KNOW WHERE THE PASSING LANES ARE AND DO NOT CROSS DOUBLE YELLOW! If you don't think you can make the pass just sit back. The road is not going anywhere. There is always another chance to drive it.

Yes that is illegal but it is his own choice. If he crashes its his own fault.

I don't think OP cares if he crashes, but if he crashes into an oncoming car..

I completely agree that he is putting people in danger but its his fault if something does happen and he needs to make a better example out of himself

Tell the guy in person, don't post a video to prove your point.

Edited for wombatsauce's comprehension

Doc neon was wrong for crossing the double yellow, but aren't you all? you guys are driving pretty fast up that hill. if that legacy wasn't there.. the OP would have been right on doc neon's ***. if you really respect the roads and everyone around you, you would cruise to the meet and not take every corner like its some togue.

As someone that has lost family members due to the bad decisions of others on the road, this sounds like absolute crazy talk to me. Nearly every weekend I am out there on those roads, often with my family in the car. This kind of driving is absolutely in-excusable.

Exactly. I mean wow.

So much no.

The driver in the silver WRX chose to simply keep going when he should have braked and tucked into line. Then, he crossed a double-yellow on the approach to a blind turn. The blind turn could have contained a vehicle containing a family, and they would have had to perform emergency evasive maneuvers to avoid this idiot. And for what?

If someone is being an ***-hat behind you, that does not mean that you should also drive like an ***-hat. It means you should do your best and if you are that susceptible to peer pressure, probably just ignore your mirrors until said ***-hat passes you.

Crossing the double-yellow out there on the twisties is really stupid, and there is no reason for it EVER. I have been hammering my cars down those roads since 1997 and have never once had a reason or need to cross a double yellow. People are relying on other people following the rules.

This fellow is just lucky that he has not accidentally killed anyone yet. I enjoy a fun blast in my Justy, but if I had come around that corner and found a speeding WRX facing me in my lane, I would potentially die that day.

jebus, that was not okay. this is not the track, if you can't do a clean pass on your side of the road, he needs to acknowledge and tuck in. That was incredibly foolish and potentially life threatening.

Although I agree with the OP, I know this thread is going to get bad...

Also bear in mind. That if something had happened, it wouldn't have been solely on Chris. It would have been on the whole group that went up there that day. Had you guys not been in a group, this situation would not have happened.

What's done is done. Let's just try to learn from this.
