PS3, Wii, or 360?
I'm looking to buy my first console since I bought the N64 ages ago.
Now...I'm mostly interested in driving games, like GT4, NFS, etc. Not really interested in adventure/shooter games, unless it's on PC. I don't know if its worth it just to get an expensive console just to play a certain type of game. Maybe it would be cheaper just to get a PS2 and get GT4? Will GT5 come out on PS3? If so, when?
The 360 already has some driving games out and I've been looking into that.
The Wii, I just want for Wii Sports. Not into Zelda or anything like that. But the price is much lower when compared to the PS3 or 360.
Any input is appreciated

Well if your mainly looking for a driving game the PS3 or the 360 are the way to go. With the PS3 you get the NFS franchise and the GT franchise GT HD is ETA for mid to late 07 and GT 5 looks like sometime in 08. As for the 360 you have the NFS franchise and Forza 2 is expected in a few months, so its really all about your preferance on which game you like better and how long your willing to wait.

xbox 360 because of PGR3, NFS, and Forza 2.
But if you play computer games, why not use that money and get a steering wheel for comp and play the racing games they offer for it? GTR2, all the NFS's, rally games...

Stick with the PC games if your only interest is racing games.
You will be disapointed with any of the racing games for the Wii if you're in it for any sort of realism. Wii Sports is pretty fun, but no reason to spend $250. Personaly I think the Wii is great, but it doesn't seem like you'd be happy with it.
The 360 and PS3 are a very large investment for the relatively small genere of racing games. Visually, they blow the Nintendo out of the water, but you've gotta pay to play.
Good luck!

as for now, i'd say xbox just becuase of their one year head start and their list of games that are already out. if your willing to wait, i'd say ps3, HOWEVER i don't know how this system is going to be due to the fact that i hear its hard to make games for the system AND sony is hard to deal with as a 3rd party (sony are jerks to 3rd parties), they might have shot themself in the foot.

at this very moment i'd buy a 360, simply because of the extra time that developers have had to get acquainted with the system. Games are more polished, less buggy, etc etc. PS3 no doubt has the edge as far as raw hardware power goes, but it's still a ways off before we see any A-quality games released (GT HD, GT5, MGS4, etc). There are quite a few killer apps on the 360 already, and many more are on the way shortly.
If you can wait and see how the PS3 does in the next few months, i'd wait before I made a decision.
with that said, if you play alot of multiplayer\party stuff, get a wii. It's cheap, and it's awesome.

Thx for the replies.
I might just go with the PS2 + GT4 + Wheel idea. Should cost around $200 total?
My computer can't really handle much right now. I built this system last summer (2005). Specs aren't that great since the advent of the dual cores and such.
System specs:
AMD 64 3200+
1gb RAM
ATi 9800pro
I might just upgrade the card or something, although PCI cards are a bit hard to find nowadays.
