There is NO new technology here that would have anything to do with brainwashing you. Its basically a snazzy new way to package the same screens and keyboards you've been using for 20 years. If you choose to be part of a "network" to be connected to other people either by internet, phone, cans on a string, or sending letters by carrier pidgeon you open yourself up to everything that entails including having your location and thoughts known to other people.
