Pro tune

There are a few tuners in my area. Closest is gst in Hayward.

Could anyone recommend the best shop. I just want to get it tuned once and not worry about knock or detonation.

Looking for a conservative tune for DD.

Honestly you are going to get about 1000 different responses about who's best and who will blow up your engine. It's really hard to pick a tuner for these cars in the bay area due to the mass amounts of different feelings people have at meets/online but i honestly have heard no negative remarks about Snail Performance. I personally was tuned by EQ-Tuning in Fairfield and haven't really had big issues. I know some people who have basic GST stage 2 tunes and their cars are fine as well. I honestly think anyone of our local tuners can tune a basic set up pretty easily without much need to worry. It's when you want a bit more then stage 2 that you should choose your tuner very carefully imo.

I had gst tune my 04 STi with just a TBE. Car ran perfectly fine when I sold it at 175k miles, and that's with me abusing it for 3 years. I was boosting around 20psi also.

Talk to a couple tuners and pick one you're comfortable with. On another note, I don't believe Cobb has released 2014 support yet, so you will have to wait a bit until they do.

Thanks

I got tuned by Mike and GST. Absolutely love the car, the tune, and the customer service Mike provided me. I highly recommend GST.

You're close to one of the best subaru tuners in the world and you're asking for references to someone else? Go to GST.

Let just put it this way... he built a car that won every TA event it went to for a season until a mechanical fire (not engine related) and he did it on the SAME motor. Pushing 700 whp... and that same car is over 800 whp now.

I'd say uh... dude can handle tuning your car. LOL!

Go see Mike. If he can get you scheduled you won't be sorry.

i had my bugeye tuned by mike and loved it and it ran great. Fast forward to my sti, and i felt that it was harder to get a hold of mike these days. I reached out to Travis and snail and he was always available to answer any questions that I had. I ended up driving up to FW and had him tune my car. Love the tune and have 0 complaints.

CN:Travis@snail is legit go to him

Everything I've heard so far from Snail is dope. The one car I got to drive had an amazingly smooth torque curve.

Travis is dope.

Mike is dope. If mike busy... go to travis. LOL!

And yeah... mike picks his tunes a lot differently now.
