Primitive Performance Driving Rally School coming to NorCal?

This kind of goes hand in hand of the "would you participate in a rally thread", but takes it one step further to "would you want to drive in the dirt?"

Being the resourceful and lazy person I am, I've bugged Paul Eklund a lot about trying to get his school started down here. Interest throughout the state exists to make this possible, but I want to give it as much exposure as possible. I've given him some possible venue locations and contacts and assured him we could get enough people to make it worth his while.

I know most of you will not want to get your cars out in the dirt, but there is a good chance he will bring prepped rally cars you can rent.

Look for a possible announcement of it actually happening hopefully soon.

Holy crap, yeah I'd take it!

would we have to provide a car though? my car would break something for how low and stiff it is being an autox car.

I'd be in. I've been interested in participating in his school up in Portland for a couple years now, just never had the funds together in time. A NorCal school would be much more wallet friendly.

Current location we're looking at is in Vallejo, where the FRX rallyX's are held. Prices will likely be around the same as his schools in Oregon of around $315. Format should be the same of classroom on Friday evening, Drive all day Saturday, and follow up with a rallyX on Sunday. Still working it out to see about rental cars, but hopefully he can bring at least a couple of the school rental cars or more depending on interest. Most of us will be driving our own cars that we take to rallyX events, but I would expect rental cars to be limited availability. But yes they are caged rally cars, not the fastest things, ie inky is a 2.5RS that is caged with rally tires and a lot of fun to drive.

Keep in mind everything is still in the planning stage and everything could change from format, location and prices. I am working with Paul though to make this happen ASAP and if all goes well it will hopefully turn into a regular event with FRX holding the rallyX's on that sunday.

What we need to find now is a decent karaoke bar to get thrashed at and laugh at each other while we try to sing in Vallejo.

With all due respect to my good friend Paul Eklund, (not to mention most everyone else in the greater Oregon Rally community who comprise his "teaching staff") CRS offers essentially the same program, sometimes 2 or 3 times per year in CA -I don't get why would anyone think that Paul's program (possibly costing 3 times as much per person BTW) is going to be a whole lot better?

Well, this will be in the bay area, so it's closer for one. The instructors are more experienced, and you get a lot more seat time in addition to it counting towards Rally America coefficient points.
