Pride: Final Conflict 2005 (spoilers)

(for the n00bs http://www.pridefc.com/pride2004/index_e.htm)

Igor should have won. Arona did a great job beating down Silva. Shogun did an even better job beating down Arona.

Tank Abbot?? Time to retire or pick up a real martial art. Fujita was just too damn smart.

Alistar Overeem... I have to hand it to the guy, he's a lot better than he used to be, but still not good enough against Shogun.

Silva couldn't stay on top forever, I mean, eventually someone would come and take his title away. He did go 5 years before being beat, so that is definitely an acomplishment worth noting.

Fedor... What can I say... The man is just something else. Crocop was tired, and this has to be the first time I've ever seen Crocop tired, and just plan out of it. He had lost so much focus, I knew Fedor was going to win. Fedor plan and simple dominated the whole thing.

Discuss...

Silva lost to Arona. descision.
It looked like Arona did have the upper hand on him throughout the fight.

Yes. Tank is what I like to call a "gate keeper" figher. He can overpower people
and hits hard, but has no real technique. And he is old and out of shape. A credible
figher should be able to beat him without too much effort.

He is getting better, and he is tall and strong, but Shogun proved to have the
better technique.

Agreed. He is still a great figher, and has plenty left in him.

Fedor is a machine. Always moving forward, always swinging. I don't know what
the rest of the martial art community is going to do about him. Hopefully he
will retire soon and give someone else a chance.

lol, n00b!

Quintin Jackson fought Silva, but he got sent through the ropes, with a 1/4 pint of blood spraying all over the cameramen, and ringside translators! He didn't know what hit him, he was out COLD.

Silva was beat by Arona, someone who is simple stronger and faster that Silva. BUT, the truth is, Shogun is the next thing. 23 yrs old, he make damn quick work on Arona.

Damn it, where you MMA people at??? or are you guys what that other POS series, what is it? oh, yeah UFC!

I'll get back to you tomorrow leftwo.

I watch both, mainly UFC because it seems to be on tv more... So explain what happened with that jackson and silva fight? I just recently saw the Liddel/Jackson fight where liddel lost bad.

Car Info: My first Subaru, but have been admiring them for years. 2000 2.5rs.
I haven't seen a pride fight since the last final conflict (my buddy stopped taping for me and I can't get payperview).

I wish I would have seen this one.

Igor - I love watching him fight. He's so ferocious and quick, quicker than he looks like he should be, and he can hit so hard. I'm always excited to see him fight.

Tank Abbot should have retired a long time ago. It was great to see him fight when the other fighters were wrestlers and boxers(like what 10 years ago), but when real mma fighters became the majority he lost all his advantages.

Awsome for Arona to take out Silva. Arona's a great fighter, I have a lot of respect for him. Silva is amazing; so fast, so brutal. If I saw him in person I would probably run away. I would have bet on Silva winning.

Fedor is truly something else. He has dominated every fight I have seen him in. I wouldn't be surprised to see him still at the top of the food chain ten years from now.

Did Crocop land any good high left kicks? Probably not otherwise he would likely be the winner. I guess Fedor is a little tall to be kicked in the head. I love watching Crocop fight, he is great standing and on the mat.

If you watch the video, there is an angle where you see Jackson bounce off of a
camera someone is holding outside the ring. It's one of the best KO's, just brutal.

He is young and fast. Except for that flashy start where he tried the spinning back
whatever kick, it was a great fight.

UFC is to Pride as King of the cage is to UFC. The show is just a level above
with better fighters. And the ring just makes for a better fight. Tank was not able
to use his "pin them on the fence and punch" technique.

My only complaint about the Pride show can be seen in the photos you attached.
WTF is up with the ref cam!?! Arrgh that thing pisses me off! Not only is it HUGE,
awkard location, but the quality is poor. I swear I could go to Frys with $150 and
come out with a better soultion than that wacky low hip backpack. You would think
with all the other high tech crap they do for the show they would come up with a
better camera soultion than that.
