Price for a 03 WRX engine

So I only have $1000 left to pay on my car and I'm starting to think I may actually want to get a new enginge for my car since I'll have some money now. My friend has been thinking about getting a GC8 and I was going to sell him my engine and either look at gettin a STI v7 or v8 put into my Wrx. I just wanted to know what do you guys think would be a fair price for a used 03 Wrx engine. it has 50K miles, oil changed every 3k with synth. It has been tracked only once, and so far I've had no problems with it. Any ideas on a price?

Oh my friend is pretty flaky so if someone else with a GC8 or other subaru is looking for a Wrx engine I would be willing to persue that avenue...eventually once I decide what to do.

Thanks,

Jason

search the for sale sections of the big subaru boards.

I'm not an expert, but I'd estimate $2000 for the engine and probably $700 or so to have it put in.

I know someone who is looking into FineLineImports. Apparently they give pretty good deals on swaps as well

Whaaa? Their labor prices dropped by over HALF!? The LIC site said $3375 on labor. If it IS $1,200 then, there's no question where I'd take my car someday. LOL

i think that number from lic is just the swap..not including the rewiring of the ecu to make the swap work correctly....

That is correct...that was just the price on labor for the physical swap.

you are a retard, thats not even your car that you are refering to, Chris owns it.

You have no say in when or how they should finish that car up.
