A Pretty Productive Sunday

So my dad's headlights were extremely weathered, as were the headlights on my little sister's Honda and my van.

So My dad got a headlight clearing Kit from Kragen and today we did the deed...

The Stuff actually worked really well... My dad's lights came out great, My little sister's light came out really well, and My lights came out ok... Which is not bad considering we were able to use the kit on three sets of lights and it was really only meant for one set.

After pics...

It takes a while to load 9 pics...

Thanks for the compliment on the hood. My cousin's fiance did the pin stripping all by hand.

Application is only to the exterior of the lights, and yes, those did turn out very well, esp. the yota's lights.

You don't even have to remove the lights from the car... just mask off areas that you don't want to mess up (ie. painted areas around the light) and you basically wet sand the lens starting with 400 grit then 1000 grit and finishing with 2000 grit using some compound that came with the kit. Once it's all sanded down just wipe it dry and apply a new layer of resin and let dry.

The sanding process took about 15 minutes per light and then we waited about half an hour for the resin to dry... they should be fully cured after 24 hours.

I don't remember the name and I don't feel like digging through the trash to find out but I do know that the kit was 40 bucks... which isn't really that bad for even one car.

Nice pics.

I had a rather productive Saturday.

1. Swift springs installed on a Forester
2. Muffler and air filter installation, cabin air filter cleaning in a second Forester.
3. Front swaybar installation in an Outback.
