The driver handled it in a mature fashion... he probably had so much on his mind he just took it from the instructor.
BTW, for a first timer, the driver wasn't bad at all. I made that first mistake coming out of the hot pits and going on the race line in turn 1 as well on my 1st track day (thunderhill too). Granted I checked my blind for cars coming down the straight, but it's an easy mistake when you're a first timer.
I'm impressed how well the driver already knew the lines as well as he did.

I've ridden with a couple instructors at thunder hill.. Both were cool as hell. One of them gave me really good info and instruction and then took me out in his z06 to show me a couple of the things he had been telling me about. There was absolutely zero instruction on that lap. He wasnt even all that bad. Glad he got it recorded. For the record.. +1 for the rest of thunder hill staff but that guy was a douche.
I had an instructor once, he wasn't bad, but even though I showed him I wasn't a novice. He just didn't trust me enough, and was not pushing me to the level of driving I was capable of.
Well, step in Mr. Christian Miller (2009 Koni Challenge ST Champion), he was riding me so freaking hard, and really got me past all the crap that instructor was giving me. He pushed me, and pushed me, and I really learned what I needed to do.
He then drove my car for one session, proceeded to whoop me by 9 seconds... YES, NINE SECONDS!

I ran a 2:24
He ran a 2:15

But I've also had Christian ride with me on a track day. He didn't say a word till near the end of the session and all he said was, "Why are you running in the green group? Run the yellow next time, you don't need instruction."

For all the people who have never done HPDE, keep in mind that an "******* instructor" is a very rare occurrence. The vast majority of people will graduate from green group without ever having an instructor like in the video.
Everyone I know has gone through green groups all with very nice instructors. Some were better teachers than others, but all were respectful. This is the first I've heard of instruction like this.
OTOH, I was at a track day where one instructor drove the green drivers car to demonstrate... and promptly put it into a wall.

I had a great experience with Unlimited Laps.
