It definitely sucks, I feel bad for my friend working in Longbeach. We've had fires ripping across ca all year..............but for the most part I think peoples lives are safe. I think I would be more apt to Call Sudan suffering and the fires an inconvenience. We willill be fine.

Took me an hour 45 minutes to get from Fullerton to Chino...

Sucks, cuz one of my friend's houses is really close, but from what I can see from my apartment those fires that were threatening her house are out.

Yeah, def sucks... In a sick way I'm glad that these fires struck rich peoples homes instead of middle class people who are hard working and would have lost everything... At least the rich folks probably have insurance and money stored away...

I know thats a bad thing to say, but a couple friends and I were talking about it yesterday and we all pretty much agreed...

Really sucks that anyone lose their homes.. especially in a friggin FIRE... I mean, you can't recover from that. At least floods you can save some stuff, earth quakes are the same, but a fire... Ug, I can't even imagine.

This is the reason that when I bought my gun safes that I made sure that they were fire rated at 1.5 hours at like 2000 degrees... I figure by then the fire will be out, and I doubt that the fire would engulf my safes for more then an hour anyway.

Blah, anyway, I'm glad no one was really hurt (last time I checked) and that its only "stuff".

There isnt anybody suffering.

Oprah is worth billions. **** her. she can go buy a new house.

im glad those expensive homes burnt to the ground.

I dont want anybody hurt, but those homes are just extravagant ways or making fun of the poor.

Celebrity homes just make headlines. But it's not just fancy house burning.

In a Los Angeles mobile home park in Sylmar, where fire devastated 500 trailers overnight, police using nine cadaver dogs began a search for bodies of elderly residents who authorities fear may not have been able to get out in time.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone, rich or poor.

Let me first apologize if this response was due to taking your statement the wrong way, as it's easy to misinterpret what someone means on the internet.

You're kidding right? People have lost their LIVES, with these fires burning up their homes. So what if they have a nicer house than you, or the people down the street? Most (maybe not all) have worked for this money. They've invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into these homes, and it's lost in minutes. Think of it this way, the pieces of ash that will be falling on my car for the next few days, could have been family pictures, diaries, or anything else that was part of someone's life.

Living in a home in the Bay Area is living extravagantly compared to a lot of this country, let alone the world.

yeah i was just commenting to the other guy...of course i dont want any of this brought on anyone.

I just thought it was a good opportunity to post Oprahs video

I live in a $200,000 house in a redwood canyon, i know how serious and devastating fires are, knowing people who lost their houses just a few miles from me.

Yeah even the poorest people in CA can be considered "sickening" to people in other countries. I plan to donate when i gets a jorb
