man I didn't realize people did that. with the amount of money spent on tape you should just buy a clearbra.

Tape is only a few dollars a roll. I had to tape up my hood after it got clearcoated for the drive from the bay to home.

The blue tape thing is very common. Once I spent an hour taping the hell out of the front of my car. 15 minutes into the trip a rock smacked my windshield leaving a golfball sized hole almost right in front of my face. Worthless blue tape...

blue tape is common on the track but I rarely see people using it on road trips. Makes sense I suppose to keep bugs off but unless you're putting 3 layers of the stuff on there anything but a dirt clod is gonna smash right through it.

Shoot I've got nicks THROUGH my clear bra.

just saying.... didn't know people did that for road trips. Suppose it makes perfect sense. I'm just to vein to drive around with blue tape on my car...haaa. That and I drive WAY too much so it'd be like an eternal blue tape on there and I'd go through like 10 rolls a month...haa.

Where do you find that for $3 a roll? I go through a LOT of it working on my caddy and painting parts and what not and it's usually more like $7 a roll. Course I use the blue and the green.

If I ever repaint the front of my car I'll definitely go clear bra.

I posted too much in this thread. I'll have to go dig up some old HIN pics tonight.

home depot? 3 is approximate, it's not like a buy it often. I rarely take my car on road trips, but we had so much stuff that we needed my car that time. i took my old subie all the time tho...and everytime we drive up there...the car ALWAYS comes back covered in bugs that have been caking and baking on there for the weekend under the hot sun...they're a ***** to clean...but with the tape i just rip it right off.
