Dayton Audio DTA-2 Class T Digital Audio Amplifier Module

Aurasound 3" Black Cone wide range

It will be powered off 10 aa rechargeable batteries.

Never been impressed with any of the portable multimedia sound systems. So I make my own.

Hah! I don't even want to admit how long it took me to find a set of 5 wheels, not to mention what I paid for them. And they're not great condition either, I'm on the fence about getting them re-sprayed before I go putting tires and miles on em.

Ya that is kinda what I am making, except with cigar boxes using a folded horn design. I want high quality sound not just loud. I slapped together a prototype with some cheap multimedia speakers and it sounds ok. Now I am going to work on making a highend one.

The DTA-100 was on sale a few weeks ago, might still be. Plenty of power for a cigar box (but not exactly AA battery powered lol). I build and rebuild my own speakers also.

I ran one off a single 9v for the better part of a work day! It was only pushing two 2" full range drivers though.

10 AA batteries run in series = 12v @ 2600MaH Should be more than enough to run it for 10 hours.

I will bet you lunch it runs at decent volume for at least 8 hours!

EDIT: The one I ran of a 9v was not the same amp, it was one I ripped out of some cheapo multimedia speakers. I think it is a smaller amp but still T-class.

What'd Chris let you get it for? They were asking $3900.

I kinda wanted this one as a play-thing: 1997 Subaru Legacy GT AWD Wagon Automatic -- Clean Machine!!
Damn I got a steal then, I paid $2700 for a 2000 legacy L with 170k - 5spd, all windows recently tinted, headgasket/tb service was done on time too

Everything good except the sub. Polk should not even make subs; even at that price, I wouldn't get it. Hit me up if you want to talk speakers. The RTiAs are pretty good for the money though. If you haven't bought them, check these out too: http://www.ascendacoustics.com/ CMT340SEs up front and CBM170SEs or HTM200s out back and it will be a nice setup, spend more on the sub, less on towers.

That's a fully loaded 2.5GT though, and has been overhauled as well. That's his asking price too, he will usually work with you.

Dang...those are some nice speakers...but I would need to be a professional homebody couch potato to justify that much on a sound system
