It is meant to keep your thumb from wrapping around the pg. That is one of the 3 pieces you need to replace or remove in order to be featureless. I plan on making it a featureless rifle like this one:

Love the fact that it has a C.A.R.B Legal Cat. Looks pretty factory (aka stealthy) when installed (especially with the Subtle Solutions Chimney sitting on top of it).

Also love the fact that if I ever decided to go to a twin scroll setup all I have to do is get a replacement turbo outlet section and bolt it right up to keep it USDM length & catted.
