Porsche...it's whats for dinner.

Here's a fun lap from the 24hrs of LeMons at Buttonwillow this weekend. Anton gobbles up some fine German engineering. Horsepower is probably about even. We might be spotting him 400 lbs.

Buttonwillow Pikachubaru v. Porsche Battle - YouTube

The LeMons race was cold, fun, exhausting and cold. Absolutely epic. We didn't have enough drivers this time so Anton and I swapped stints and iron manned it to a 70th place finish out of 135.

All the extra seat time was good for me. By Sunday afternoon I actually had the front half of the track somewhat figured out. Anton as usual was ***** out all weekend embarrassing people. His best lap Saturday was 2:15 and he improved to a 2:13 right before the checker on Sunday.

There are several reports of him stunt driving on 3 and 2 wheels so I'm hoping to get to see some video of that.

Typically, the Pikachubaru gave us no real problems and ran great all weekend. We tweaked the camera a bit, and if you see the oil temp idiot light blinking, that's because I wired it into the brake light for help digesting the video.

Enjoy!

Jim

Smart wife. Please don't introduce her to mine.

There are several Bay area teams that are always looking for drivers (myself included). Well, technically, we are all looking for payers with some amount of mechanical empathy...there is no shortage of maniacs willing to drive for free.

Typical rate is ~$550 for arrive and drive. The car owner supplies the car, entrance fee and all the consumables.

You supply your safety gear, LeMons license ($50 per year) and figure out your food and housing for the weekend. Camping at the track is always an option.

Even if you do want to build your own team/car I'd highly suggest at least one race with an experienced team to get the lay of the land.

That actually sounds like a better way to do it. I mean race with someone else for 550 or shell out way more than that and DIY and look for team mates.

Please keep me in mind for next year as I have been very interested for awhile....
