Poor Suzie Subaru-Help Please

So I went paintballing yesterday in Vallejo, as I was coming back past great america I noticed steam coming out of my driver side hood. Pulled over opened it up and there was radiator fluid all over. I noticed about a 3 inch crack in the plastic part of the radiator. I bought some duck tape and radiator fluid, let the car cool down. I made it to the next exit before it started to get in the red and steam and their was an autozone. I bought some "epoxy putty" and put that over the crack...it didn't work. Now suzie is sitting outside some auto repair shop in vallejo and I'm praying it is just a simple radiator replacement and not a head gasket and all the stuff I'm reading about.

Anyone know of a good repair shop in vallejo incase I need a second opinion? I'm in a little trouble since I live in santa clara and obviously not much is open on the weekends.

so if you were passing Great America, why is your car all the way in Vallejo?

dont send it to a shop, id say get a new radiator. As long as there is no oil seeping out of your engine.

Maybe check your coolant for oil for evidence of engine problems

thats as far as my mechanical knowledge goes

It would help to know what year your car is.
2002 WRXs are prone to radiator failure because they were designed poorly. It is a common problem to be leaking coolant from the radiator and you should replace with 2003+ or an aftermarket setup.

Thanks for the reply. It is a 2002 subaru wrx wagon with 87K miles. Thanks for the feedback on an 03 or later radiator.
