There is no pissing contest, this is 100% of what the majority of people want and I want to make sure of that. That's all I've been trying to protect.

This meet/festival exists to make the members of BAIC happy, so why not do what the majority of members want to do instead of leaving in the hands of a couple people to decide? It's not rocket science.

I'll get some daylight (high noon-ish like) pics. I'll also count "official" parking spots (pavement), and such, ask questions and get answers from the park officials about how many cars we can fit into the area...

It was supposed to be me, Gagan, and Jourdan as the 3 people that were going to organize this meet for everyone. Over the last two days I found out that both Gagan and Jourdan wanted to have the meet at Quarry Lakes because they believed it was the best spot and where the members wanted the meet to be, and said that they didn't want to be a part of it unless it was held at Quarry Lakes.

This was over PMs as well as in other threads. I just wanted to show that people wanted hammy/similar over quarry lakes, and was hoping that Gagan would still help me out when he saw that the majority of people didn't want to do quarry lakes.

I didn't intend on it being immature or anything of that nature... Gagan is a dear friend of mine, we go waaaaaay back and he's helped me every year and was hoping he'd still help me out this year even though he said he wasn't unless it was at quarry lakes.

So yeah, I didn't intend on it looking like an insult or anything... I guess I could have worded it better...

Agreed, the organizer(s) need to grab the bull by the horns and choose the best course of action based on the information they have. There will always be differing opinions, but ultimately the most logical course of action should be taken without hesitation of who is going to get butt hurt.

That said, if you would like an active participant to help you guys out I am more than willing to put in the hours and do some footwork. Just say the word.

I would have made a thread with all the options, the problem with that is that we don't have all the options yet.

The reason I started this one is to try to convince Jolt to stay on board to help me out with the meet even if its going to be somewhere other then QL. He has a lot of knowledge as to how the meet works and I need someone with his skillsets and his dependability.

I also wanted to move forward and make sure that we'd pursuing other options and not focusing on Quarry Lakes.

This thread had nothing to do with "immaturity" or trying to insult anyone, not in any sense, shape, or form which is why I was so confused when you called me immature.

Now that its said and done, lets drop it and focus on the meet please!

A location will be picked sometime next week because I want to give a little more time to find some other potential locations. Once the week is up we will then vote on the options that we have and whichever location that wins will be our official location.

Well, if you're interested, I can get quite a bit done. BBQ restaurant/catering experience helps, as does cost analysis (restaurant mgmt. training) in bringing together something affordable, yet delicious for a large crowd.

i hope that the Novato location is not ruled out because its distance, it looks like an excellent location that will fit all our needs perfectly. especially some shade during the hot summer! just like others have mentioned Mt. Hammy hasnt been close to everyone either but they have made the trips out every year. brucelee, you arent alone on this planning, and looks like you have some great help from roo and rescuer as well as other organizers. never been there, but it looks like a damn good spot. I did not go to last year's meet because of the same reasons others have mentioned and i also sold my subaru, but if this year can more resemble our record breaking years at Mt. Hammy, im definitely in
